My travels in Eastern Oregon have been really nice. Below is a photo of Mt. Thielsen or Big Cowhorn. It is commonly struck by lightning and as a result is largely compoosed of the rare mineral fulgurite. It's 9184 ft. and was first climbed by E. Hayden in 1883. It is just North of Crater Lake and is quite spectacular.
Here is a photo of Upper Klamath Lake near Klamath Falls, Oregon. The mountain in the background is Mt. McLaughlin. I drive right by it on the way to Medford, OR.
