Deer

No, I'm not going to shoot you! It's not hunting season yet. Right near my house is a canyon called Deer Creek canyon. I ride my bike up there once in a while. The canyon gets its name honestly, it's full of deer.

Pronghorn Antelope

Trips to Tucson are always special. I can count the antelope on the way, and there are usually hundreds to see. Several times I've stopped the car, got out, and taken photographs like this one. It's a good thing I'm married to Nancy! I'm not sure anyone else would find it as amusing. The best place to see them on I-25 is between Raton and Las Vegas, NM. Did you know that pronghorn antelope are the world's second fastest land animal?

Bear

Last year I saw a couple of bear near Roxborough Park, just a few miles from my house. I heard a rumor that this one and his mate were shot trying to get into someone's house nearby. Too bad.

Sheep

A few years ago we could walk up Waterton Canyon and see the big horn sheep. As you can see they are quite tame. However, the canyon has been closed for over a year now due to the dredging out of Strontia Springs Reservoir. We'll have to wait a while longer I guess.

Deer

The deer are coming back down out of the mountains and you can see signs of them everywhere. These were just a few miles from our house.
