No see um's

The worst outdoor pest is a no see um. Hands down! These tiny little pests bite causes painful, irritating, long-lasting lesions. When they bite you know something has just happened but you can't see what it is because it's so small. They're also called biting midges. We've encountered these in the past and have been bitten to pieces, literally. They look grey and are about an 1/8 of inch long. I'll take a hundred mosquito bites over one of these.

Mosquitoes

Some of my fellow campers recently found themselves bothered by mosquitoes during the first day at the river camp. At night they saw some fireflies and said, "Now they're coming after us with flashlights!"
