Break a leg

Skiing is really fun. You drive up to the mountains for an hour (and don't forget the 2 hour drive back), you brave the cold, try to get your cross country skis on while you're wearing gloves, you start down the trail, pick up speed, maybe a little too much speed and then bam! So why do it? Hey buddy! Get that ticket out of your mouth! And where did you get those cute white boots? You bought those?

Snow and more snow...

We're getting lots of snow in Colorado this fall. It's time to get out and enjoy some back country skiing, hot chocolate, and quiet forests. The downside is that it's cold! In fact, it's so cold the hens are laying eggs from a standing position! But after skiing in the mountains I get sweaty and hot and take off my cap. Then I realize how cold it is, I have to part my hair with an ax. I can't wait to get out.

Skiing

Nancy and I drove up to Kenosha Pass today and went cc skiing. The weather was nice, there was plenty of snow, and we enjoyed every minute. We chose to go on the East side and up the Colorado Trail and it turned out to be a good choice. There were hardly any people on this side and the views are better.

We stopped in a big aspen grove and enjoyed some hot chocolate along the way on this nice big rock. It sure is swell to live in Colorado!
